“For the One. This is the jewel, the calling that dropped into the heart of this organization at the beginning of our journey. Although it has had many meanings along the way, it continues to direct and refocus us on “The One” right in front of us. The number of sex trafficking victims is daunting, but there is a calm and groundedness in knowing we are all called to the one. It is the heartbeat of all that we do and all that we are.”

MISSION

To prevent and disrupt child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking by empowering children and equipping adults through education, awareness and action.

VISION

A future where children are better protected because communities know how to recognize, prevent, and respond to exploitation.

At the heart of the organization is a deeply personal mission: serving “the one” right in front of us. This philosophy emphasizes that every victim is a child, sibling, neighbor, or friend, grounding our work in compassion and urgency while reinforcing the reality that exploitation can affect anyone.

For The One grew out of the work of Freedom House New Mexico, our residential home for women recovering from sexual exploitation and sex trafficking from 2015–2019. There, we provided safe housing, therapeutic care, mentorship, and long-term support as women rebuilt their lives. Witnessing both survivor resilience and critical gaps in prevention and long-term care led to the creation of For The One.

We serve two primary populations.

First, we equip youth, families, and community members through free presentations, social media education, and community events that build awareness and prevention skills. Our flagship prevention initiative, Be the Hero, delivers engaging, evidence-informed presentations to schools, parents, churches, medical professionals, law enforcement, and community groups. These trainings empower participants to recognize grooming tactics, identify warning signs, and take action, because informed individuals are far more likely to intervene and seek help.

Second, we support survivors of sex trafficking, particularly women in Phase 3 of recovery transitioning to independent living, by providing critical financial and practical assistance during vulnerable moments when emergencies arise.

AWARENESS: We provide awareness through social media, presentations and free events.

PREVENTION: Until we realize this is a real issue happening in our backyards, we cannot change it. Our events are fully based on statistics and truths gathered from specialists in this field, regarding the sex slavery industry. With this information, we equip the public and their friends/family with knowledge and tools to identify trafficking as well as protect themselves from it. Let’s prevent our children from trafficking before it happens by giving them these tools as well.

We have gone all in on prevention in 2020. Click either option below to see what we are doing to help the vulnerable (potential victims) and children who are currently victims of sex trafficking.

SURVIVOR SUPPORT: For the One serves survivors of human sex trafficking. Through finances raised by our reoccurring donors and sponsorships. We are able to assist women who are on the last stage (Phase 3) of their journey from recovery to successful, independent living.

DONATIONS: As we have discovered through our previous Freedom House transitional housing program, assistance in this stage is absolutely necessary. If these women do not have support during this transition, they risk becoming vulnerable again.
